Shooting interviews in Times Square!

Hey everyone!  I hope everyone is having a fantastic spring so far.  There has been a lot going on with me and “Making the Cut”.

The “Making the Cut” crew and I recently got back from a trip out east to New York and Pennsylvania.  We were lucky enough to sit down with the Director of Employee Relations for Barnes & Noble Inc. regarding their trans-friendly business practices.  We also shot some street interviews with people in Times Square as well as checking out Brooklyn, MOMA PS1 and Five Points!  Then we were off to New Hope, PA for my surgical confirmation with the Papillon Center.  The staff and Dr. Christine McGinn were wonderful and I can now announce that my surgery is scheduled for Oct. 1st, 2013!!!

I of course would not be where I am today without the support of all my amazing friends and family.  I cannot thank you all enough.  I’d also like to give an extra thanks to the generous Kickstarter backers who helped make this trip possible!  With your contributions I was able to buy new film equipment including, tapes, an Impact Lighting Kit and wireless lavalier microphone system.  I’ve also been working to get those pledge gifts out to you guys asap.  Most you have should have received your gifts, and those still waiting they will be on their way shortly. If you haven’t gotten me your address you can still send me your address though the site or email through the contact page.

I’m also working to get tallladypictures.com functioning better, getting the shop feature to actually work and updating my transition journal with more posts.  Stay tuned as those will take a little time.

The next few months are going to be particularly busy for me as I continue to take the steps I need ensure a safe and healthy surgery and doing my best to document the process.  Thanks again,

Hey Everyone,

This past 6 weeks have been both overwhelming, moving, and extremely intense!  Thanks to many of you wonderful Tall Lady Picture fans, we did an outstanding job at both the Final “Making the Cut” Fundraiser as well as exceeded our goal & expectations for the “Making the Cut” Kickstarter page!  I can’t thank everyone enough for all the amazing hard work, momentum and support that went into both of these events.  I am touched by the love and support that I have received from all of you!

There are too many generous people to thank for helping us reach our funding goal of $6,000 for “Making the Cut” Kickstarter.  I will be trying to get some of the pledge gifts out to backers asap.  My apologies for spamming facebook!  With your help we reached $6,511!!! This money will be going toward new lighting and sound equipment, a new camera, plus airfare and travel costs for me and the “Making the Cut” crew when I have my surgery next year, as well as other production expenses!

Hi there lovely Tall Lady Picture fans,

I realize it’s been a while, but honestly it’s all me, not you!  I’ve had a crazy year so far.  I’ve been working a lot on other people’s projects, being married and living life.  Well, I’m back and I’m excited to announce that after WAY too long things are picking up for me personally and with my film “Making the Cut”!

After 3 1/2 years I am holding my final fundraiser for my gender confirmation surgery on Fri. Nov. 2nd at the Down and Over Pub (2535 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.) in Bay View.  The event will feature a fabulous catered dinner by Ball & Biscuit Catering, storytelling by yours truly and live music (TBA).  Then show us your chops with a karaoke contest and win fabulous prizes during the raffle.  This event is sponsored by WMSE 91.7FM, the Tool Shed Erotic Boutique, OnMilwaukee.com, People’s Books and more! We’re also hosting a Kickstarter campaign for “Making the Cut”.  I can’t begin to properly thank everyone who has donated so far!  With your help we’ve been able to raise $1500 in the first week!!!  Our goal is $6000 to cover equipment costs, travel and production expenses associated with the film.  We have until Nov. 16th to reach our goal.  There a lots of fabulous prizes depending upon your level of donation.  The person that donates the most at the end of the campaign, will receive a Wondrous Vulva Puppet previously owned by renowned comedian Margaret Cho!!!  You can find out more by clicking the link at the right!

Somebody got married!!!

Happy 2012 everyone!  My new year’s resolution is to maintain this site better this year.  I feel like I’ve been away forever and I have.  The year and have had a lot of ups and downs for me. I got married and had an amazing honeymoon, the Trans/Love Anthology edited by Morty Diamond finally came out, I did a 6 month internship at OnMilwaukee.com!  On the downside, my films and the website have slacked off.

I’m happy to say that “Playing With Gender” will be playing at the first annual “Out in the Desert” Film Festival in Tuscon, AZ next month!  I also found out that I was named runner-up for “best local filmmaker” by the Shepherd Express.  Thanks to all of you who voted! I also have a Twitter account if you want to follow me there!

I’m in the early stages of some new projects that I hope to start filming in the next couple of months. Of course “Making the Cut” continues on.  I still have a lot of “Making the Cut” shirts left over.  You can pick one up to the right of the page ———->

My summer has been going great this year!  There’s lots of things happening and going on.  I’ve been busier than usual with work, and wedding planning.  That’s right!  This summer I’m getting hitched to my longtime girlfriend Maria.  I’m really excited!

This past May I also started an internship at OnMilwaukee.com.  I will out and about town this summer organizing different events and tabling for them.  I’m also the lead videographer for the interns!  I’ve already got some new pieces up at my youtube site.  Go check them out.

I also have a full page feature in Milwaukee Magazine this month!  Writer Tea Krulos did an interview with my last July, but it’s only gotten into print now.  Krulos is the author of the book “Heroes in the Night:Inside the Real Life Superhero Movement“.  I also had a really fun photoshoot with photographer Adam Ryan Morris.  You can see the photo he took here.  The issue is on local newstands now.

“Whatever Suits You” will be making it’s debut at this year’s Entzaubert festival!  The film screens July 7th as part of their Trans Wisdom program.  If you’re in Berlin please try to go see it.
