Something Old, Something New

Back in 2005, I was a recent film school graduate and dealing with tremendous amount of transition-related stuff like coming out to friends and employers and going fulltime.  Since graduating I wasn’t really sure what I was supposed to do as far as films go. I didn’t have any ideas, probably ’cause my mind was on other matters.

Enter the Translations Seattle Transgender Film Festival.  A film festival for people like me?! It was the first film festival that I had heard of that was dedicated completely to trans films/filmmakers.  I knew I had to enter.  This festival is the one that launched my so-called “film career”.  I made my film Whatever Suits You specifically for this festival, and to my surprise it got in! It was my launching point, my catalyst for everything that I’ve done film-wise ever since. So I’m pleased to announce that the festival has asked me to show my film once again for their 10 year anniversary.  Whatever Suits You will play this coming Saturday May 9th.  I am forever in debt to this festival for all they have inspired me to do and for giving this filmmaker a chance.

I’m also pleased to announce the release of my newest music video.  This past month I shot a video for my good friends in the excellent Milwaukee band, Body Futures.  The song is called A Complete Divorce.  We shot this video as a loving homage to a super cheesy ABBA video “The Winner Takes It All”.  I had a lot of fun shooting and editing this video.  Thanks again to Body Futures for letting me do this. Check out the video below.
